We accept referrals from hospitals and social service agencies only. Please get in touch
with your caseworker and have them contact us. We cannot respond to calls from individuals.
We do not help people find housing or provide shelter for them unless they are referred by
an agency. If you are homeless and in need of temporary, emergency shelter, go to one of
the two homeless shelters in San Luis Obispo County:
North county:
ECHO Shelter

They are closed in the daytime. Go there at 5 pm for supper, shower, bed, breakfast.
Priority is given to families with children.

Both the Maxine Lewis Shelter and Prado Day Center in San Luis Obispo are operated by
Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County.
