NEED HELP?

We accept referrals from hospitals and social service agencies only. Please get in touch with your caseworker and have them contact us. We cannot respond to calls from individuals. We do not help people find housing or provide shelter for them unless they are referred by an agency. If you are homeless and in need of temporary, emergency shelter, go to one of the two homeless shelters in San Luis Obispo County:

North county:

ECHO Shelter
6370 Atascadero Ave.
Atascadero, CA 93422

They are closed in the daytime. Go there at 5 pm for supper, shower, bed, breakfast. Priority is given to families with children. Operated by El Camino Homeless Organization.

San Luis Obispo and South County:

Maxine Lewis Shelter
750 Orcutt Rd.
San Luis Obispo, CA 93401

They are closed in the daytime. Go there at 5 pm for supper, shower, bed, breakfast. Priority is given to families with children. Overflow from shelter is sheltered in churches.

Both the Maxine Lewis Shelter and Prado Day Center in San Luis Obispo are operated by Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County. Caseworkers are available at both shelters.
